How DOTS powerlifting score works
DOTS compares a powerlifting total against bodyweight and sex so lifters of different sizes can be ranked on one scale. The input lifts are normalized to kilograms internally, even when you enter pounds. That makes the score useful for meet-style comparison, not for judging whether a training block is productive.
A high DOTS score usually reflects a strong total relative to bodyweight, but it does not account for training age, equipment, federation depth standards, attempt selection, or whether the lifts were done in competition. Treat it as a ranking metric, not as a complete picture of strength.
The calculator is most useful when you compare the same lift standard over time. If you switch from gym touch-and-go bench to paused competition bench, or from straps to meet-legal deadlift grip, the score changes meaning. Keep the inputs honest and use the total as the common denominator.

e1RM calculators are planning tools for healthy adults. They do not replace medical advice, coaching judgment, federation rules, or lab testing. Use conservative inputs when recovery is poor, technique is changing, or the result would push you into loads you have not recently handled.
